“Before I came to this school I didn’t eat anything no fruits or vegetables. Now that I’ve come to the garden, I’ll try anything.”

- Student at P.S. 216, after participating in ESNYC

Edible Schoolyard NYC is a non-profit organization established in 2010 working to incorporate health, wellness, and sustainability into New York City’s public school curriculum. This is done through lessons taught in the garden and kitchen classroom. The long-term goal of Edible Schoolyard NYC is to combat childhood obesity by providing all of New York City’s 1.1 million public school students access to education that changes the way they eat, for life.
